Good morning. This issue will be short. I had visitors at the Kodiak plant this week for a couple of days which occupied me from early morning to late at night. I work on Internet business in the evenings and weekends, and I just did not have the time that I normally can spend researching topics and writing articles.

Linda is home with me now to help me, and I give thanks for her safe return.

eBay Classified Update

The eBay classified ad keeps on ticking off the views and the sign ups. It slowed down since I first posted it, but it gets a few views per day.

As of the writing of this issue it has had 60 views. The views this week are lower for the week than the previous reporting. However, I caused a few of the first views when I was checking the ad to see how it would show on eBay.

Microsoft AdCenter

AdCenter is the new kid on the block with Google and Yahoo Search Marketing being the older pay per click (PPC) programs.

I have been working to learn AdCenter better, and I have been setting up campaigns pointing to items sold on Amazon.

Let me tell you about my experiences with AdCenter and why I recommend it as your starting point to learn pay per click advertising.

I recommend that if you want to learn the PPC business, start on AdCenter to minimize your exposure. When you create a profitable campaign in AdCenter, move it over to Google and to Yahoo.

Selling on Amazon

Becoming an affiliate on Amazon is easy. Go to the home page at www.amazon.com. Scroll down to the bottom of the page and click “Join Associates”. Complete the necessary information and you are now an associate.

I use the product pages in Amazon as landing pages for the PPC campaigns. This way I do not have to create my own landing pages to send the viewer on to Amazon.

Linda is still tending to her mother who is recovering from a knee operation. We had a long visit on the phone tonight, and I can hardly wait for her to get home.

This house is lonely with just Boo, our black cat, keeping me company. I have a kennel of dogs in the back yard, but they are not inside pets to keep me company.

You Really Don’t Want a Website

As much as I have discussed websites in the past, I bet you never thought you would ever see these words come from my fingers into print.

Let me tell you a story.

A man walked into a hardware store and asked for a ¼ inch drill bit. Did the man really want a drill bit?

No, what he really wanted was a ¼ inch hole drilled in something. If he could have found someone with a drill and a ¼ inch bit to drill the hole for him, he would not have gone to the hardware store.

Linda and some of her girl friends are off to Lake Medina for some girl time and some kayaking.

She will then attend a baby shower in San Antonio for our grandson John Mark-Thomas who will arrive in September. Next, she is off to Lake Jackson, Texas to help her mother recover from a knee replacement.

eBay Classified Ads Revisited

Last week I wrote about a making an error on a classified ad and then not being able to easily change it.

The initial work around was to add to the description in the form of a postscript (P. S.).

eBay Classified Ads

Classified ads on eBay are a bargain for attracting traffic to your website. They run for 30 days or until cancelled. They are included in the search results along with the auctions on eBay. The basic cost for the 30 day exposure is $9.95.

I am experimenting with classified ads now to see how they work and how to make them effective.

Establishing a new account on eBay

It is easy to establish a buyer account on eBay, but eBay is a little more demanding about setting up a seller account. I appreciate that they are since there are too many con artists who take advantage of the Net to cheat people out of their money.

Building Feedback on eBay

I opened the SBI-Guru account on June 17 and 10 days and $6.42 later, I had 10 positive feedbacks.

Feedback is the life blood of an eBay seller. People do not know about you except by what other people say about how you conduct your business. You need some transactions to show that you are a good person with whom to do business. A 100% positive feedback builds your good reputation.
